Built in 1987, Beechview Manor is a secure 51 apartment unit residential housing facility.  The minimum age requirement for our residents is 62, however, those that are wheelchair bound are eligible to reside at Beechview Manor in the handicapped designated apartments if younger than 62 years of age.

Beechview Manor is located within the City of Pittsburgh in the South Hills neighborhood of Beechview near many convenient neighborhood amenities, including a major grocery store chain IGA , numerous independently-owned and popular restaurants and coffee shops, our Carnegie Public Library Beechview Branch, a new Senior Center being rebuilt in Beechview and Pittsburgh public transportation including bus and light rail transportation.

For the safety of residents, the building includes an entry-way intercom system for monitoring the security of the front and bridge breezeway entrances.   Each apartment has interior door peepholes, smoke detectors and individual security pendants for each resident that includes a security panel within each apartment for immediate emergency access in case of a medical, fire, or police emergency. And Beechview Manor is a smoke-free building.

Our full-sized one-bedroom apartments are small, only 486 square feet, so anyone moving in will need to pare down considerably to live in our spaces without clutter, which we strongly recommend. We have thirty-three full-size one-bedroom apartments, ten units are one-bedroom studio apartments, six units are handicap accessible apartments, two apartments are efficiency (combined living/sleeping) apartments with full kitchen and bath.  Each apartment has a kitchen equipped with appliances, is cable-ready and has forced A/C and Heat.  Electricity and Water are provided to the residents at Beechview Manor’s expense, however, HUD strongly encourages conserving water and electricity. Residents are responsible for purchasing their own services for telephone and cable connection for TVs or computers, and we have both Verizon Fios and Comcast service throughout the building. We typically have a waiting list, however, we always welcome the submission of applications to become a resident if you currently meet the 62-year-old age requirement.

The facility offers a substantial community room available to the residents of Beechview Manor where residents can relax to watch weekly movies, enjoy the HDTV and the stereo system, or play the community Wii on the 65″ large flat screen cable-ready TV.  A full-service kitchen for community gatherings, such as birthdays, holidays and other special celebrations is available to the community for community events. In 2017 Beechview Manor has offered a secure wireless connection for all residents to use for enjoyment. A computer room with three touch-screen computers is adjacent to the community room. Weekly activities include 50/50 raffles, card games and Friday night movies.

In addition, many residents enjoy the convenient use of the Meals on Wheels program, as well as incoming and outgoing mail services, newspaper, UPS and package delivery service.  Our community laundry facility has ample washers and dryers enabling multiple residents to easily tend to their wash at the same time, and the outdoor grounds of Beechview Manor are manicured for relaxation, reflection, and personal enjoyment.

Feel free to make an appointment to visit Beechview Manor to explore the amenities and our close-knit community!
